Make Music Aberdeen is a live, free musical celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year, with concerts on streets, sidewalks, and parks across the city.

Held annually on June 21, Make Music Day is part of the international Fête de la Musique, taking place in 1,000 cities across 120 countries. The daylong, musical free-for-all celebrates music in all its forms, encouraging people to band together and play in free public concerts. This year, more than 100 U.S. cities are organizing Make Music Day celebrations, encompassing thousands of concerts nationwide. In collaboration with the Downtown Aberdeen Association, Make Music Aberdeen officially launched in 2023! In 2023 Aberdeen joined the Make Music Alliance along with other chapters around the world!

This will be an all day FAMILY FRIENDLY outdoor event on June 21st in Downtown Aberdeen. Aberdeen area restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and businesses will be open and ready to serve you! Use the DISTRX App for a list of local places to shop, drink and eat.

Calling all singers, dancers, guitarists, violinists, saxophone players, choirs, bands, and anyone else who wants to come make, share, teach, or learn about music! We hope to fill the street with performers and music lovers. Use the participant sign-up form linked below to let us know you’ll be there and what we can do to help you shine.

All performers who check-in at our booth on the day of the event are eligible for a ticket to have a chance to win this Gibson Les Paul (no purchase or fees necessary)! World Music Day is not just for performers! We are looking for individuals who want to teach music, demo instruments, or share information about music. Reach out to us with your ideas using the participant sign-up form linked above!
